The vegetation, defined as false coastal fynbos (heath), consists of low scrub, with patches of bush and reedbeds along the river. Many waterbirds, such as yellow-billed duck, red-knobbed coot, little egret and various tern species, are attracted to the estuary. Location: West of Pot Elizabeth. Access: From Port Elizabeth follow the N2 I the direction of Humansdorp take the turnoff to Jeffreys Bay and continue to Aston Bay, the Seekoei River Nature Reserve lies just north-west of this town. Accommodation: None. Other facilities: Walking is allowed; there is a bird-watching hide. Open: Throughout the year. Opening time: 07h00 to 17h00. |
